Roscommon
Mark Redden built a currach with people supported by The Brothers of Charity in Roscommon( picture on top) as part of the Mantua Arts Project. Mark in now in Barcelona building a boat.

USAFran O Connor in California is interested in getting plans to build a currach

France
Alain wants information on building a small scaled down currach models. He is in Avignon in the south of France.

Beiring Sea
Sean Gallagher has a unique heritage of being an Irish eskimo, his father was from Galway, and he is buiding skin boats on his home island in the Beiring Sea. Check out his site www.anayakkayak.com


AustraliaGrainne Scanlon, Perth want to know if there is anyone there who is interested in building a currach or gettting a club started there.

Donegal
Paul McGonagle emailed me from Donegal and is about to build 6 Owey currachs at Kincasslagh, with 12 people.
Picture on top show their regatta last summer. Great to see local boats being built.

Louth
Kevin Holmes visited us in the summer and is now building a currach near Drogheda.

Clare
Tony Keane is building a 3 hander in Kilkee and has refurbished a 2 hander which was 50 years old built originally by Cully Marrinan.

Hopper Ryan is refurbishing a 2 hand currach in Kilkee

James Madigan, boat builder is building a 3 hander in Lisseycasey, Co Clare as part of a FAS scheme

Limerick
Two students from University of Limerick are building a 2 hander and a racing currach as part of their course work.

Cavan
Holger Lonze is building currachs in Cavan

Cork
Padraig D is continually building 4, 3 and 2 handers as part of Meithel Mara in Cork City

Budapest, Hungary
Rodi is building an umiak with some students and is looking to source materials and tar
